FASCINATION-IT JUST CAN'T BE DONE!!!

Postby ScrollMasterRob » Sat Mar 12, 2011 1:00 am

Under the 3.5 rules, the Bard's fascinate ability was based on the DC of a perform check. Under the Pathfinder System, the fascinate ability uses the same formula as the suggestion ability (10 + 1/2 the bard's level + charisma modifier). I hope this has been erratted. A 6th lvl bard w/CHA 18 has a fascinate check of 17. This means that only low level schlubs will be fascinated. Pray the GM rolls a 1.
Breaking mods with disposable items.

If the Bard went first, his fascination ability meant the combat was over in the old days. Now, If I'm a schlub class I have a chance to survive the roll. In the old days it was not so. Still, not rolling a one, I have seen a Bards fascinate ability win the day and defeat the combat. The Bard was third level that went first and saved me a lot of heartache.
There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

First God created idiots, he was just getting started, then he created Wizards of the Coast 4e Dnd.
