Tidbit on the bard 4.0 version

Postby thetrickygnome » Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:05 am

This is just too cool!!! ( off the the LFR Yahoo group )

Love him or hate them, bards are on the way...

http://www.wizards. com/default. asp?x=dnd/ dramp/20081103

The bard preview in this month's Ampersand article.

You need a D&D Insider subscription.

I can't copy-post here, but I'll give you the 411:

- Bards are leaders
- They heal, and slide 1 square.
- They are melee, range, and a little magic (wands, rituals, charm/illusion
spells)
- Multiple multi-classing (not just one multi-class)
- Some cool powers. At-wills here:
- Misdirected mark: Attack, and give the mark to another PC
- Vicious Mockery: Talk smack to your enemies (laced with magic),
penalties to attack and psychic damage
- Lots of other cool features and powers.

Vicious mockery!!!!! VICIOUS MOCKERY!!!! So not only can a player sit at a table and talk smack
at his foes 24/7 but now when he does, he wounds his enemies and drives them nuts!!!! I feel a
disturbance in the force of sanity!!! Yes, I see a gnome bard lurking in the shadows, waiting to
answer the call of the people and lay the smackdown on many evil candy asses. He will humiliate &
devastate all in one shot!!!

I believe Joey Porter of the Dolphins talks smack like no other player, at least that is what I have heard. In honor of Joey, name him Porter. A Gnome named Porter. Joey, you have been Gnomed, MUhahaha. :D
There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

First God created idiots, he was just getting started, then he created Wizards of the Coast 4e Dnd.

I hate the Dolphins so that will not happen.
I'll figure something out though on the name. Rumor has it that minotaurs and
gnolls will also be player character allowed in the near future. I think I might try
my hand at a minotaur also. He'll have red fur and I'll get a magic item that allows
him to grow wings and fly that way he can say he's like the drink.

Yeah but I'd rather play a minotaur. In the Dragonlance tales which are some of the most amazing
D&D books I ever read, the minotaurs were moderately important races, including a suprising
number of wizards amongst their kind which is a cool contrast to their brutish dumb stereotype.
Besides I'd love to play one just to charge into my opponent and crush his ribs with a gore attack!!! ;)
I just see more potential in minotaurs, especially given their prominence in modern mythology as well.

Characters that talk smack in game? I don't see how a miami player would be any good at that sort of thing.

I'm a giants fan myself, but i plan to rock out a bard. Going to name it George Carlin after the great comedian. As for the minotaur, can you say barbarian?
Eli Wallace, "Well this couldn't get much worse?"
Dr. Nicholas Rush, "I'm afraid thats a failure of imagination."

Nice pic Ramon but when you play this PC, please make sure you wear a bib or
keep the spitting distance to a range of "Personal". ;)
