Anyone else having a bitch time with Naxx

Postby Dwraith » Wed Jul 12, 2006 2:10 am

Wow, got in to naxx for the first time. Damn gargolys are hard as hell. you almost drop them, and they just turn to stone and regen, and some drop a dot effect that stack to do up to 2k per tick. any tips?

Unfortionatly alot of the fights in Naxx are gear dependant. So if your DPS/Healing plus's arn't strong enough to keep up with the damage output and regen your best bet is to have the guild hold off on Naxx. We are having similiar issues but with the bosses yet we are still trying to push past them.

We haven't gone into Naxx yet.

but from all the talk i'm hearing most of the fights are dependant on your own survivability skills.
apparently it's not like most instances where fights are done in scripted patterns.
the fights are more like the jin'do fight where everyone has multiple jobs to do in addition to keeping your own ass alive.
I've had descriptions of it's like doing PVE and PVP at the same time.
some have even suggested that you should pvp alot in order to get into the groove.

well insimple terms, the hardest fight we have had is with the stone gargolys. one of them hit the entire raid with a dot that stacks. Mostly gear or not, if you can't droped it fast enuf before it becomes stone, it a wipe. tell me how you got past that when all your healers are droping like flies.

what kind of dot is it?
a curse or magic?

also they were talking in vent last nite about how most of the mobs in naxx require you to put out enough dps.
you need to put out enough dps if not more to kill ragnaros before he submerges.
or to kill vael before the second tank dies.

the garg dot is not magic or anything. I can't be removed, it has a count down timer, yet every time it hits you it resets and stacks.

Mario, what has worked for us is:

At 40% everyone just goes all out DPSno holds barred. Dont be wearing your raiding gear for those encounters, its pure DPS gear. Also, you can try to sub in as many DPS Classes as possible. And start going all out at 40%, dont wait for the 30% mark.

And yes, we're having a pretty bitch of a time in Naxx.

A friend of mine in Damage Networks on Mug'thol just downed the entire spider wing and I couple other bosses from other wings. He told me that for some of the fights if the majority of your raid isn't wereing full tier 2 you're just scarred.

i have full tier 1, mostly all the members in the guild have tier 2 and some items form ZG, AQ20/40, and we have followed that. The spider boss we have down, as well as finaly the instructor. He was a bitch with his mana burn that would drop any caster in LoS

WTF how did you get Anub down? Whats the strat? We have been struggling with that crap for two months man. Do you have the warrior kite him around the edge? Does everyone stack on the other side to kill the adds and avoid Locust Swarm???
