Or do you mean Dispel Magic Field. I know Ramon has used the spell incorrectly a few times...

Your familiar still has to be SMART enough to cast the spell.

Nope read share spells... Dispel Magic Field is personal.. so it can be shared with your familiar.

You familiar has access to all your skills.. aka: spellcraft

So when you cast the spell you share the spell with your pet, alowing you to counter 2 spells a round insted of one.

Banning familiars is ridiculous

Postby thetrickygnome » Tue Jul 24, 2007 5:06 pm

Dude, if you ban familiars then you have crossed the line as far as I
am concerned on how far you are altering a familiar because of PC
ingenuity.

Yes, Ramon cracks out PCs, spells, feats, ect. Yes, Ramon has, on
than one ocassion, infuriated and frustrated a DM by doing so. Going
to such lengths as to even consider banning a basic game mechanic
such as a familair that has been in the game like forever is hideously
wrong.

In Blackmoor, playing a sorcerer not careful enough will get you
dicked over but at least they allow it. I would STRONGLY suggest
that the thought of banning familairs be that, just a thought. My
gnome rogue/wizard in LA has only one friend he trusts and that is
his familar rat. I would really be angry if he was taken away and so
would alot of other players.

Besides, it's not like he is breaking the rules or anything. If you have
to modify the rules, then do so but do so within reason.

Let's all remember Ramon wanted it removed before the book went to print it's Paradigm's fault really...

What a relief...

Postby thetrickygnome » Tue Jul 24, 2007 10:31 pm

Rene,

I was joking

Thank God for that. I would have hated to tell Pepi' that he could no
longer share quiet nights sleeping in our rotting wooden box in the
alleys of Milandir while eating stale cheese and old bread. Knowing
him he would have gone on a quest to find and venerate the great
almighty god of rat-kind that is Skizz. ;)

P.S.- I saw Ramon use that spell with his familair at a game we played
at his house and as soon as he cast it and started devastating things
with it, I said to myself, " This sh*t is gonna get yanked hard if he
pulls it at a major con." It was crazy sick.

Uh, Ramon told them to remove it when he edited the book. He looked at the spell and said get rid of it. Then they didn't so he started using it to prove a point.
