Mark of Hero's is banning the polymorph line of spells.

Postby Needles » Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:13 pm

The Mark of Hero's campaign is banning these spells: alter self, polymorph, polymorph any object, & shapechange.

This is some of their reasons why:

"This complexity of choice constitutes an unacceptable burden of decision-making upon players and DMs alike, and—perhaps more important—contributes to an unacceptable slowdown of the play experience during game sessions."

They are talking about knowing the whole MM is unreasonable for a player. Choosing between each monster and what to use.

Here is another reason:

"Forcing DMs to deal with pages of rules clarifications for such a small group of effects contributes to an unacceptable slowdown of the play experience during game sessions."

They are talking about using the rule books to the nth degree and not knowing them by heart.

I don't use these spells in my game. Many people do expecially those that use the changeling. We'll see if the other campaigns go the same way.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

First God created idiots, he was just getting started, then he created Wizards of the Coast 4e Dnd.
