Odd, I played War Within, it wasn't the best, but it WAS my first LDS mod, and I love the setting. The DM knew the module by heart (had run it multiple times at GenCon '02) and was with a weird group that made being pulled along interesting. What was the specific problem?

The fact that the adventure had no way for the characters to "change things" you are expected to run from some things (that I will tell you, if there was a paladin at my table.. and he ran, he would have fallen from grace within seconds...)

Also the fact that the mod tells you what you do, and tells you in BOX TEXT what Your actions are....

You are led by the nose the entire game, you are pushed down a story which you have no chance to change or alter...

Every campaign has its bad mods... I discoverd DragonStar's last night...

You had a GM that probably made the best out of a bad mod.. hell i have run Senators Seal and had people walking away thinking "Wow that was amazing" After you run a mod 10 times you know what you need to do to make it a better mod. A GM running the mod for the first time, running it by the book, with out making things up on the fly... can not give this mod's story justice..

Bad writing, good story.. sad combination..

I'm Playing a Mechanist/Cleric of the Smith...

Planing on going 5 levels of Mechanist and the rest cleric.. for the 1st 10 level's i will hop-skip between Mechanist and Cleric..

Technology & Knowlage Domains Coupled with the skills of the Mechanist creates one hell of a character, besides I like the idea of the "TechPriest"

Techpriest sounds sweet, what race? It'd be even cooler as a SoulMech. :)

Maybe we did have a good DM, we were allowed to make numerous decisions *shrug*

Guess now you know how we felt in Shake the Pillars

if you read the mod you will see how lucky you where

Guess now you know how we felt in Shake the Pillars

alas you must have had a poor GM, I have run many tables of Shake the Pillars.. and so far everyone has liked the mod. But a poor or unprepared GM may ruin any adventure.. if you take the time to read Pillars you will see what I mean

What happened to Kraken, Fito?

Do you plan LDS for weekends or weekdays?

Good question. I'd be interested in playing depending on the day & time.

Saturday mid-afternoon is usually best for me or an early evening mid-week.
