RE: Recommendations for ONLINE TABLETOP PLATFORMS

Postby teknoblade » Mon Feb 25, 2008 5:27 pm

A few regoinal and local players, including myself, are looking for a better Online Tabletop environment to host Living Camp Games within. We have already begun reviewing several but would like to get user feedack from RPG gamers for better recommendations. We all seem to like tabletopnetworks from gabob, but can get it working. Let us know if you know something better, cost should be minimal as attending a convention isnt in everyones budget.

Most importantly the system should allow for importing new images and also support voice and chat.

PEACE

Fantasy Grounds looks REALLY nice. May actually pick that up just to noodle about with. Licensing is decent as well. GM license for $35 and players for $20 a piece. Not bad in consideration.

OpenRPG is free but EXTREMELY cumbersome from personal experience. It was easier to use IM / Skype.

yes, free would be ideal but i would consider paying if the tool had decent graphics and was flexible enough to allow me to incorporate my own. above everything i need boh voice and chat capabilities with a nice environment. I was looking at tabletopnetworks from gabob, but it very difficult to get online as there server is down from time to time. I think that if they got a financial backer their software could easily be the best on the market.

WotC's coming out with their own in two months. Looks pretty nice, from what I've seen of it.
